1. Blink 182 - Adam Songs

Lagu Adam's Songs milik Blink 182 terlahir setelah personelnya, Mark Hoppus membaca sebuah surat yang dikirim oleh salah satu fansnya sebelum akhirnya memutuskan bunuh diri.

Berbekal dari kejadian itu, Blink 182 kemudian memutuskan untuk menciptakan Adam's Song sebagai lagu anti bunuh diri. Sayang, meski mendapat banyak pujian dari kritikus musik, Adam's Songs akhirnya jadi isu kontroversial di tahun 2000 setelah seorang remaja belasan tahun menggantung diri sembari mendengarkan lagu tersebut.

2. Eminem

Eminem adalah salah satu rapper yang gemar mengekspresikan kekecewaan dan fantasinya lewat karya.

Pada 14 tahun lalu, seperti dikutip dari laman guardian.com, seorang ayah di Inggris menyebut jika salah satu lirik Eminem memiliki pengaruh pada mendiang putrinya yang memutuskan menggantung diri setelah dipulangkan dan diberi surat peringatan dari sekolah akibat masalah alkohol.

Selain itu, menurut laman yang sama, seorang remaja berusia 17 tahun juga sempat menuliskan lagu Rock Bottom di catatannya sebelum memutuskan melemparkan diri ke sebuah kereta yang berjalan.

3. Gloomy Sunday - Rezso Seress

Di era 30-40an, sejumlah media massa melaporkan setidaknya ada 19 belas kasus bunuh diri terjadi di Hungaria dan Amerika Serikat terkait lagu Gloomy Sunday.

Meski tak pernah terbukti memiliki kaitan langsungnya, sejumlah radio di Amerika Serikat pun sempat dikabarkan memboikot lagu ini. BBC juga memboikot lagu ini dengan alasan menjatuhkan semangat di masa perang. Larangan tersebut berlaku hingga 66 tahun, dan baru pada 2002 BBC mencabutnya.

Nah, entah berhubungan atau tidak, pada Januari 1968, sang penulis lagu, Rezső Seress bunuh diri dengan cara melompat dari jendela apartemennya sehari usai merayakan ultahnya yang ke 69.

4. Avenged Sevenfold

Band rock asal Amerika Serikat, Avenged Sevenfold juga sempat tersandung masalah setelah seorang remaja di Inggris yang gemar mendengarkan lagu dan videoklip mereka memutuskan untuk bunuh diri.

Lewat sebuah pernyataan tertulis, Avenged Sevenfold pun mengaku bersedih atas kabar tersebut. Mereka berharap agar kedepannya angka bunuh diri di kalangan remaja bisa ditekan.

"Kabar kepergian anak muda di UK benar-benar memberikan kesedihan yang mendalam pada seisi band. Yang pasti, fans atau bukan, tidak boleh ada yang dibiarkan merasa putus asa," ucap personel Band melalui pernyataan resmi mereka seperti dikutip dari laman loudwire.com.
